- Description
- The Federal Communications Commission has formed a new Spectrum Policy Task Force charged with conducting a systematic evaluation of existing spectrum policies and with making recommendations as to possible improvements. In connection with this, the FCC has released a Public Notice seeking comment on many basic issues in spectrum management policy. While this effort is not expected to result in procurement of equipment or services by the FCC, recommendations that result from it may result in new public and private market opportunities by firms that are involved in innovative communications technologies. Comments on the questions in the public notice are due by July 8, 2002 and reply comments filed by July 23, 2002. The public notice can be obtained at http://hraunfoss.fcc.gov/edocs_public/attachmatch/DA-02-1331A1.pdf Comments that are filed may be viewed at http://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/ecfs/comsrch_v2.cgi by entering "02-135" (without the quotation marks in the first entry box and then hitting "Retrieve Document List" Primary Point of Contact: Dr. Michael Marcus, Senior Technical Advisor, Spectrum Policy Task Force, at: SPTFinfo@fcc.gov
