Description
This is a synopsis for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format under Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13.5, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through FAC 06. This acquisition is 100% small business set-aside and the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 541990 with a small business size standard of $5.0 million. The intention of this procurement is to acquire professional cataloging services, for the purpose of cataloging, and editing online catalog records in the "Images from the History Medicine" database for the Prints and Photographs Collection in order to provide and improve public access to the collection. The services would be for one year with options for two (2) successive one-year periods. This project requires an experienced cataloger of visual materials who has an understanding of and experience with using MARC format and graphics material. The services require personnel with the combination of skills and knowledge as follows: an MLS degree, experience handling rare books, and graphic materials, and demonstrated experience with the VTLS Virtua Client. The FAR provisions and clauses sited herein are incorporated by reference into this solicitation. Offerors are advised to propose in accordance with the provision of FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items. Offerors are advised to provide with their offer a completed copy of the following provisions: FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items (http://www.arnet.gov/far/). The following FAR clauses apply to this acquisition: FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items; FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items. Request for Quotations (RFQ) Number NLM 02-128-UHP will be available on or about June 11, 2002. Request for RFQ NLM 02-128-UHP may be obtained by writing to the National Library of Medicine, Office of Acquisitions Management, 8600 Rockville Pike, Building 38A, Room B1N20, Bethesda, Maryland 20894; Attention: Uyen H. Phuong, Lead Purchasing Agent. Facsimiles WILL NOT BE ACCEPTABLE. The period of performance is anticipated on or about July 1, 2002. All responsive sources may submit a proposal which will be considered by the NLM.
