Description
Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, Norfolk Naval Shipyard Annex intends to contract for services and material to remove two (2) each existing water curtain paint cabinets in their entirety and install four (4) each new dry filter cabinets. The new dry filter cabinets to be provided are to be complete and ready for operation, including the cabinets, filters, controls, fans, exhaust ducting, stacks and fire suppression systems. All systems provided shall meet appropriate code and regulatory requirements, such as SMACNA, NFPA 13, 33 and 70, governing their use with the existing painting operations in the building. Each cabinet's exhaust system shall be capable of producing an airflow of 24,000 CFM with a minimum face velocity of at least 100 FPM, calculated for a 25% reduction in efficiency from a clean filter condition. New filter cabinets shall be approximately 20' W x 12' H x 36" D, fabricated from unpainted galvanized steel of at least 18 guage with 20" x 20" filter grids on the face. Cabinet interiors to be caulked and sealed. Contractor to provide on site supervision at all times during installation. This requirement will be awarded as a firm fixed price award utilizing FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. A site visit will be held with a tentative date of 24 June 2002. Installation to be complete prior to 30 September 2002. Location: Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, Virginia. The solicitation number for this requirement is N00181-02-Q-0530. The NAICS classification is 421850 and the small business standard is 100 employees. This requirement is 100% set-aside for small business. All quotation responses must be received by 2:00 PM local time on 03 July 2002.
