Description
This is a sources sought notice. The 56th Fighter Wing Base Chapel has the following recurring requirement on a part time basis: LUKE AFB CATHOLIC CHOIR DIRECTOR 1. Duties And Responsibilities: The Choir Director will: a. Be responsible for all coordination, organization, preparation and performance of vocal presentation required to support the Sunday 0930 Masses. b. Lead the music accompanist at all performances and rehearsals for these Masses. c. The Director, Catholic Ministries will do the scheduling for the additional sessions but the total number of authorized units per year cannot exceed 126. d. Director will assist in the selection of suitable music for worship services, special community programs, and other services performed as part of the Catholic program. e. Be neatly attired, well groomed, and act in a professional manner. 2. Qualifications: The Catholic Chaplain will conduct an interview and an audition. A Bachelor of Arts in Music with a specialty in directing: preferred but not required. Minimum ten years directing experience within the past 15 years directing Catholic Choirs. The Director of Catholic Ministries will conduct an audition or/an interviews. It is desirable that the candidates for this position be able to provide instruction in music reading, theory, and interpretation. 3. Equipment/Supplies: Requirements for organ/piano music will be submitted in writing (fund request forms) to the Director, Catholic Ministries, at least forty-five (45) days in advance of the required date and will include: date, number required, cost, suggested source with address and telephone number. 4. Security of Facility: The contractor will ensure after each rehearsal that the choir area used is returned to its original condition (i.e. books either returned to the rack or stored neatly away, microphones, cords, and stands put away, papers from music and bulletins removed) and that the facilities are properly secured and locked upon departure. For each weekend worship service they need only to ensure the choir/practice area used is neat and returned to its original condition.
