Description

The Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) has a requirement for thirty six (36) M249 Bolt Conversion Kits (inclusive of a safety feed tray, a clip-on barrel safety marker and the applicable manuals) and one hundred thousand (100,000) 5.56 millimeter linked simunition rounds in support of Project Metropolis. Delivery of these items is required by July 15, 2002. MARCORSYSCOM intends to award a sole source contract to Simunition Limited, Post Office Box 576, Avon, Connecticut, 06001-0576. Simunition Limited is the only existing manufacturer of the above-named equipment and it has been determined that the production of the supplies listed requires a substantial initial investment and/or an extended period of preparation, and as such, Simunition Limited is the only company that can fulfill the requirements of the Marine Corps within the required delivery period. See Numbered Note 22.
