- NASA/MSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for SIX DEGREE OF FREEDOM TABLE CONTROL PARTS. The items to be procured are as follows: Item 1, Quantity 3 EA, BALL SCREW: CROSS AUTOMATION P/N CANAS011119PH1 CONSTING OF : AAD ETS32 SERIES ELECTRIC CYLINDER STROKE OF 150 MM; 8 PITCH ROLLED BALL SCREW; IN LINE MOTOR MOUNT AND COUPLING FOR NEMA 23 STEPPER MOTOR; CYLINDER MOUNTING ON FRONT FLANGE; ROD END HAS FEMALE END ; CYLINDER SHALL BE PREPARED FOR VACUUM CHAMBER USE AT PRESSURES OF 1*10^-7 TORR. Item 2, Quantity 3 EA, ACTUATOR: CROSS AUTOMATION P/N CANASA01119PH2; CONSISTING OF: AAD ETS80 SERIES ELECTRIC CYLINDER. STROKE OF ACTUATOR SHALL BE 150 MM WITH A 5 PITCH ROLLED BALL SCREW; IN LINE MOTOR MOUNT AND COUPLING FOR NEMA 42 STEPPER MOTOR. CYLINDER MOUNTING SHALL BE ON FRONT FLANGE; MUST INCLUDE A LINEAR ROD GUIDE; CYLINDER SHALL BE PREPARED FOR USE IN VACUUM OF 1 X 10^-7 TORR. SLIDE TRAVEL SHALL BE 10 INCHES; WITH A 4 BEARING CARRIAGE; LUBRICATION FOR MOVING PARTS SHALL BE RATED AND PREPARED FOR USE IN 1 X 10^-7 TORR VACUUM. SLIDES SHALL INCLUDE CORROSION RESISTAND PACKAGE. XXY AXES SHALL BE MOUNTED GANTRY STYLE AND WILL BE PINNED TOGETHER. Item 11, Quantity 1 EA, PARKER COMPUMOTOR 6K8 EIGHT AXIS UNIVERSAL SERVO/STEPPER CONTROLLER WITH: EIGHT AXIS OF CONTROL; +/- 10 V AND STEP/DIRECTION CONTROL SIGNAL INPUTS;RS-232, RS-485, AND ETHERNET COMMUNICATIONS COPABILITY. SHALL HAVE MULTI-TASKI NG CAPABILITIES. DIN RAIL MOUNTABLE; 24 VDC INPUT POWER. SHALL HAVE 17 FAST TRIGGER INPUTS AND 8 OUTPUTS WITH EXPANDABLE (I/O OPTIONS. Item 12, Quantity 4 EA, PARKER COMPUMOTOR VM25; 25 PIN D-SUB TO SCREW TERMINAL BREAK-OUT MODULE. Item 13, Quanitiy 1 EA, ALUMA PS24V-4.5A; 24 VDC REGULATED POWER SUPPLY PROVIDING 4.5 AMPS CONTINUOUS CURRENT WITH 110 VAC INPUT VOLTAGE. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from Cross Automation, per FAR 13.106, Purchasing all components from this single vendor -- rather than piecemeal from other third-party vendors or original manufacturers (where not disallowed by licensing arrangements) -- simplifies and reduces overall procurement costs to the Government is why these components sole source from Cross Automation. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on June 26, 2002. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
