- Description
- The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID), NIH intends to negotiate with McKesson BioServices for a modification of its contract No. N01-AI-85332 to provide quality controlled recombinant anthrax proteins for bio-defense infectious disease studies, reagents for hepatitis C virus (HCV), transmissible spongiform encephalopathy (TSE) and HIV. These reagents are immediately needed for developing better methods for detection, treatment and development of vaccines and therapeutics against biological agents. The contract currently provides novel AIDS-related reagents and resources to the scientific community. Authority: 41 USC 253(c)(1), as set for the in FAR 6.302-1. Inherent duplication of cost to the Government and unacceptable delays in completing the project make competition unfeasible for this requirement. See Numbered Note 22. No collect calls will be accepted.
