- NA The U.S. Army Test, Measurement, Diagnostic and Equipment (TMDE) has a requirement to upgrade all previously fielded SPORT-ICE Kits with DPA configuration, estimated quantity of 1500 ICE Kits. Solce Source to Miltope Corporation, 500 Richardson Rd., Hope Hull, AL 36043. Miltope Corporation under both the SPORT and MSD contracts manufacture the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) kits that accompany the SPORT and MSD. These kits contain accessory components required to test and diagnose the TACOM ICE vehicle systems. After the initial fielding of the ICE kits, several Army trucks identified new data bus test hardware requirements to Program Manager TMDE. Because Army mechanics are multisystem capable (can work on any truck that may be turned in for repair) their test equipment must also have the capability to work on all vehicles. An engineering change was completed and incorporated into the SPORT, and into the MSD contract to accommodate the ICE Kit modifications (3 cables added and DPA enhanced to Haldex ). This effort must be undertaken to upgrade all previously fielded SPORT-ICE Kits with the new Dearborn Protocol Adapter configuration. Miltope Corporation maintains the Army's SPORT and MSD warranty data base as part of the Miltope Technical Assistanc e Hotline to the Army users. Miltope will, as a part of this effort, also update the existing warranty data base and technical assistance to include the retrofit units. Every SPORT-ICE comes with a 5-year OEM warranty. If damages to the fielded SPORT-IC E kits result from this effort, the 5-year OEM warranty will be negated. Miltope is the prime integrator of accessory hardware into the ICE Kit which has been fielded with the SPORT. See note (22)
