Description
THIS ANNOUNCEMENT FULLY REPLACES THE FEDBIZOPPS NOTICE POSTED JUNE 12, 2002.The National Weather Service in Anchorage, Alaska requires the services of a contractor for exterior and interior painting service of the Weather Station Office and Inflation Building including Dome located in Barrow, Alaska. The work to be performed includes surface preparation for protective coating applications as needed for the exterior of the Inflation Building, Dome and the Weather Service Office. The Inflation Building is composed primarily of galvanized metal, the Dome is fiberglass material and the Weather Service Office is primarily wood. The contractor shall furnish all materials, equipment, machinery, products, component, or any other items required for the completion of work and the government will furnish special paint for the Dome. The work shall be performed with all applicable Federal, State and local requirement regulations. Scope of work includes the following: 1.) Removing existing flaking paint using a suitable method to provide a clean surface for protective coating. 2.) Provide protection to nearby equipment, structures, surfaces not to be coated against contamination and damage during the cleaning and coating operations. This includes surfaces and equipment which are subject to contact by airborne contaminants, extra caution shall be taken to avoid contaminating the Dome with foreign materials.3.) Surface preparation for the exterior surfaces shall include removal of all foreign substances by scrapping, chipping, wire brushing, high pressure wash or other effective means. The Dome might require removal of mildew, extra caution shall be taken not to damage the lightweight Fiberglass dome. THIS IS THE ENTIRE SOLICITATION, NO OTHER SOLICITATION WILL BE ISSUED. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $50,000.00.
