- Description
- Provide professional engineering services to prepare the design development program submission, preliminary drawings, working drawings, specifications, including the cost estimates, and construction period services to facilitate award of a construction contract to Modernize Acute Psych Wards, Building 131, at the VA Medical Center, North Chicago, Illinois. This re-configuration of the wards with private and semi-private bathrooms will require a complete revision of the floor plan (and all support systems). The intent of this project is to update these psychiatric wards to current VA patient privacy standards (remodeled space should also comply with VA space standards and ADA standards). Estimated construction cost is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. Area of consideration is restricted to 60 miles of the North Chicago VA Medical Center, North Chicago, Illinois. The VA Project Engineer is Theodore Magin at (847) 688-1900, ext. 83572. Submit two (2) copies of Standard Form (SF) 254 and Standard Form (SF) 255 with appropriate documentation by close of business July 15, 2002. Mail SF 254s and SF 255s to: Great Lakes Acquisition Center, Attn: Eural Bennett, 5000 West National Avenue, Building 5, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53295-0005. Selection criteria will be based on: (1) Past performance on similar projects, maintaining project schedules and project budgets; (2) Overall engineering design experience and capability with architectural, mechanical, and electrical renovation projects; (3) Qualifications of staff to be assigned, with special emphasis on field personnel to be utilized; (4) Knowledge in design and construction requirements; and (5) Cost control effectiveness. No bid packages are available. This is not a Request For Proposal (RFP). NAIC #541310 applies. Award is subject to the availability of funds.
