- Description
- The Government intends to purchase one (1) Traveling Wave Tube Amplifier, 8 GHz to 18 GHz. This amplifier MUST meet the following minimum requirements (amplifiers exceeding the minimum will receive greater consideration): OPERATING BANDWIDTH- 8 GHz to 18 GHz; COOLING- Forced air, rear discharge; ACOUSTIC NOISE- Not to exceed 70dBa at a distance of 2 meters; OUTPUT POWER- 250Watts normal, 200Watts minimum; LINEAR AT 1dB COMPRESSION - 100Watts minimum; OUTPUT FLATNESS- 5dB over operating bandwidth; INPUT FOR RATED OUTPUT- Not greater than 1.0 milliwatt (0dBm); MAXIMUM INPUT- Capable of withstanding a 20 milliwatt input without damage; GAIN ADJUSTMENT- 30dB minimum; INPUT IMPEDANCE- 50ohms, VSWR 2.0:1 maximum; OUTPUT IMPEDANCE- 50ohms, VSWR 2.5:1 typical; MISMATCH CAPABILITY- Capable of transmitting into a short circuit (<1ohm) for 15 minutes with 1 milliwatt input (continuous oper ation); NOISE POWER DENSITY- -120dBm/Hz (setup for pulse modulation with pulse off); HARMONIC DISTORTION- 8 GHz to 9.5 Ghz - 10dBc maximum, above 9.6 GHz - 20dBc maximum; MODULATION CAPABILITY AM & FM- True replication of input signal required; PULSE MODULATION- At rated power, unit must be capable of reproducing a 1 microsecond pulse at a PRF of 100KHz. Pulse rise and fall times shall not exceed 50 nanoseconds with signal delay no greater than 300 nanoseconds. Pulse delay and distortion shall not vary more than the pulse rise time. Pulse characteristics to be measured at the 10% and 90% amplitude points as appropriate; CONTROL INTERFACE- GPIB, IEEE-488; CONNECTORS- RF SAMPLE: Rear Panel, Type N Female, at -40dBc, RF INPUT: Rear Panel, Type N Female, RF OUTPUT: Rear Panel, WRD-750 Waveguide, MODULATION INPUTS: Rear Panel, BNC Female, INTERLOCK: Rear Panel, DB-(25 or 15) Fema le; PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS- Rack mountable (standard 19 inch rack), not to exceed 12 inches in height or 28 inches in depth, unit shall not exceed 140 lbs in weight; PRIMARY POWER- 200-240 VAC @ 60Hz Single Phase; WARRANTY- minimum of 1 year parts and labor; DELIVERY- 180 days ARO. Evaluation will be based upon a measure of best value, and only those amplifiers meeting the minimum requirements will be considered for further review.
