Description
NASA/MSFC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for an eight month extension of the current PrISMS contract through December 31, 2003. This extension is in accordance with the industry briefing announcement of May 21, 2002. NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the services from Computer Sciences Corporation, Falls Church, Virginia, under the authority of a Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, which implements the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). The eight month extension described is planned for contract NAS8-60000. This contract requires the incumbent contractor (CSC) to manage, be responsible for, and provide information services to meet the requirements of the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) Information Services Department (ISD) and its customers. In providing this mission, the contractor must: (a) operate and maintain existing equipment and software; (b) gather, analyze, define, and document systems requirements; and (c) plan, design, develop or acquire, integrate, test, and implement new systems or enhancements to existing systems. The mission services of this contract include the following: (a) MSFC information services for the various programs and projects for which MSFC is responsible. Information services include applications software, computer systems, telephone, audio/video, and other defined services; and (b) Agencywide Information Management Services: These services include development and maintenance of Agencywide applications, services, and systems delegated to MSFC, as well as general support to NASA and the NASA ADP Consolidation Center (NACC). The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. See note 22. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency.
