Description

The Government intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole source basis with Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia for tidal analysis on surface current data from the Chesapeake Bay for the period August 1, 2002 through September 30, 2002 with an option to perform tidal analysis on surface currents at 10 additional stations to be determined. Authority: 41 USC 253(c)(1). Old Dominion University is the only known source capable of performing the required analysis. The applicable FSC code is B526. NAICS code is 541690. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Evidence must be provided of ability to provide the required equipment. Copies of the solicitation will only be provided in response to written or faxed requests received directly from the requestor.
