Description
The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has a full and open competition acquisition for a National Bioterrorism Hospital Resource Center. HRSA has been charged as the lead agency for the Department of Health and Human Services in developing initiatives to address hospital preparedness for biological terrorism due to the devasting events of September 11, 2002. The purpose of this acquisition is to provide for the operations of a resource center that will provide information and technical assistance to States, Territories or Municipalities, organizations and indi ideals developing bioterrorism hospital preparedness plans. The contractor will provide program support to the HRSA Bioterrorism Hospital Preparedness Program in developing and supporting cooperative agreements with State, Terrirorial and Municipal health departments involved in hospital preparedness for bioterrism. The work performed under this contract is specific and requires expertise in hospital preparedness for biological terrorism and other epidemics of rare infectious diseases. For the contractor to be successful in providing the desired support demonstrated knowledgement and expertise in bioterrorism hospital preparedness is considered essential. The contractor is expected to have previous organizational experience with the bioterrorism hospital preparedness community to work in the following capacities: 1) serving as a nationwide resource for information and consultation on bioterrorism hospital preparedness; 2) partnering and collaborating with bioterrorism hospital preparedness educators and organizations, and 3) providing training and technical assistance to the bioterrorism hospital preparedness grantees and program staff. It will be available at the Government website at www.fedbizopps.gov in the main menu under HHS, Office, Health Resources and Services Administration, locations, Division of Grants and Procurement Management.
