Description
NA This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the Simplified Acquisition Procedures in FAR 13 and the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcemen t constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. DAKF61-02-Q-0042 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) and is due by COB 1 Jul 02. The RFQ is a small business set-aside, the SIC code is 3442, the NAICS code is 332321, and the small business size standard is 500 employees. CLIN 0001 Replacement of Wooden Overhead Doors with a delivery date of 30 Sep 02. Specifications as follows: Remove existing overhead doors in Bldgs 2846, 2847, 28 48, 2852 and 2856 and replace with Thermacore Series 591 as manufactured by Overhead Door Corporation or equivalent. All debris, to include doors and assemblies, removed for installation are to be disposed of at contractors expense. All installed doors t o be in an operational and working condition upon completion of work. Contractor will also provide all material, labor, transportation, tools and supervision needed. Detail information: Total number of doors to be replaced is 32 each. Replacement for eac h building is as follows: Bldg 2846 - 10 doors; Bldg 2847 - (8 doors); Bldg 2848 - 10 doors; Bldg 2852 - 2 doors; Bldg 2856 - 2 doors; Exact size of replacement panels to be determined by field measurements by the contractor to insure proper size is utili zed. Additional information: Site visits are highly recommended and encouraged. POC for visits is Bernard Roderfer, Bldg 2171, Fort McCoy, WI 608-388-2098 Related work: Opening preparation, miscellaneous or structural metal work, access panels, finish or fie ld painting, field electrical wiring wire, conduit, fuses and disconnect switches are in the scope of work of other division or trades. Product: Sections will be roll formed, hot-dipped, galvanized steel exterior, no less than .016 inch (.4milll). Secti ons will be manufactured by a continuous formed-in place polyurethane lamination process resulting in a metal/foam/metal sandwich of homogenous polyurethane insulation. Exterior surface will be a fibbed, textured surface. Sections will have a nominal thi ckness of 1 5/8 inches (41mill) and will incorporate an EPDM rubber thermal break to prevent heat or cold conductivity. Insulation: Insulation will be a rigid, foamed-in-place, polyurethane core free of CFCs and will be fully encapsulated in nonpermeable materials to prevent loss of thermal efficiency over time. The insulation will have an R-value of 14.86 (2.63 w/msq), U-value of .067 (.380 msq/W) - calculated values based on certified test data. Air infiltration; All doors will be constructed with and air infiltration rating of .08 cfm per square foot of door at 15 mph (2.26 Lpm at 24 Kmph) and .13 cfm per square foot of door at 25 mph (3.08 Lpm at 40 Kmph) (ASTM-E0283.73) Windload: Door will be designed to meet or exceed industry standards for windloads (ANSI/DASMA 102-1996) deflection of door in the horizontal position will not exceed 1/120 of the door width. Consult factory for unusual requirements. End stiles: End st iles will be 16 gauge steel. Springs: Standard springs will be 10,000 cycles. (25,000, 50,000, 75,000 or 100,000- cycle springs are optional) Hardware: Hinges and fixtures will be galvanized steel. Full-floating, ball bearing rollers will have hardened steel races. Rollers size s will be adequate for design requirements and limitations. Track: Track is 2 inches (51mm) standard, or 3 inches (76 mm) optional, and angle mounted. Bracket mounted track is an option, but not available on full vertical doors. Lock: Lock will be int erior mounted slide lock. Weatherstrip: Weatherstrip between sections will be EPDM rubber tube seals fitted inside every joint. Bottom weatherstrip will be EPDM rubber bulb-type strip. Finish: Fin ish will be two-coated baked on polyester with a white interior and white exterior. Operation: Operation will be manual pull rope. Execution: Install the doors in accordance with manufacturers instructions and standards. Location is Fort McCoy, WI.
