- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, NJ intends to procure peculiar support equipment (PSE), for the Warfighter. The requesting authority for the PSE is the V-22 Program at the Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, (NAWCADLKE). The Government intends to procure this equipment under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (c ) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. Messier-Dowty is the only firm possessing the detailed knowledge, engineering expertise, aircraft integration information and technical data for all the components involved. Messier-Dowty, Ajax Ontario, Canada is the sole manufacturer of the Main Landing Gear assembly used on the V-22 Platform. The Government does not own the data rights to these new items making it impossible to procure from alternate sources. The following items of V-22 PSE will be requested SERD1886, P/N CAT5514-20, Puller Grease Insert, quantity 13; SERD1887, P/N CAT5514-19, Slide Hammer MLG Bushing, quantity 13 and SERD1888, P/N CAT5514-21, Removal Tool MLG Bushing, quantity 13. This synopsis constitutes the total solicitation. There will be no other formal Request for Quotation (RFQ), or other information regarding this requirement. All responses must be submitted to the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Attn: Kathleen Kiley-DiPietro, Code 25211, Bldg 129-2, Highway 547, Lakehurst, NJ 08628-5082. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a proposal, which may be used by the Government in determining whether or not to open this requirement to competition. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However all proposals must be received within 15 days. Responses should reference N68335-02-Q-0319. A determination not to compete this proposed procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
