Description

The purpose of this notice is to inform all parties that The Naval Oceanographic Office intends to award a Firm Fixed-Priced Sole Source, Site Specific Type Contract, to Hughes Machine Shop, a veteran-owned small business concern located in Bogalusa, Louisiana, a HUBZONE locale. The acquisition will be made in accordance with FAR 19.1306 (a), Historically Underutilized Business Zone Program (HUBZONE) sole source awards. Hughes Machine Shop is the only known HUBZONE source currently certified by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and contained on SBA's List of Qualified HUBZONE Small Business concerns that is capable of providing the required work under authority of the HUBZONE program. This notice of intent is not a request for proposals or quotations. Interested parties, seeking to challenge the sole source justification to provide this work, must present clear and convincing evidence to the Contracting Officer that they are (1) currently certified by SBA as a HUBZONE Small Business Concern; (2) are contained on SBA's List of Qualified HUBZONE concerns in accordance with FAR 19.303; and (3) are capable of providing machine shop services, on call within a 40 mile radius of Stennis Space Center. The Contracting Officer must received responses to this notice within seven (7) calendar days after the date of publication of this notice on the FEB BIZ OPS web site. Oral communications are not acceptable. No contract will be awarded on the basis of any offers received in response to this notice, but will be used solely for the purpose of determing if other HUBZONE sources are available.
