- Description
- NASA/SSC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for system upgrade on NASA "Technology Kiosk." The Kiosk was developed using PC-based technology and incorporates multi-media images and video clips to facilitate navigation through information aimed at providing businesses with information about available technology licenses and development opportunities. The Kiosk has been in operation for a year and has been met with mixed success. The contractor will review the Kiosk design and results of the past year and exercise improvements were necessary. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using Commercial Item Acquisitions under FAR Part 12. NASA/SSC Office of Procurement intends to issue a sole-source, firm fixed purchase order to KAE Corporation, based out of Huntsville, AL, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing (email is preferred) to the identified point of contact not later than 12:00 noon CDT Friday, June 21, 2002. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. All responsible sources may submit an offer in which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed. See NASA Specific Note "B".
