Description

The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), intends to award on a sole source basis a contract to the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HMJF) to provide all necessary personnel, supplies, equipment and services to support a continuing effort for the development of the National Simulation Center?s Virtual Reality Operating Room (VROR). Contractor shall be responsible for the concept, operation, installation, design, development, testing and maintenance for equipment and systems assigned to the VROR. Contractor is responsible for the personnel training and overall equipment function. Contractor schedules, coordinates and conducts (under sup0ervision), surgical and anesthesia teaching sessions for medical students, residents, GME physicians and other health professionals for a period of one (1) year with four (4) option years. This contract is for non-commercial support services with an initial estimated value of $205,000.00. This contract is being awarded in accordance with statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition at 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(5), "Authorized or Required by Statue." The proposed procurement is in compliance with Public Law 92-426, entitled, "Uniformed Service Health Professions Revitalization Act of 1972" and 10 U.S.C. 178 and 21139(j)(1)(A) which authorized USUHS to award contracts on a sole source basis to the Henry M. Jackson Foundation. See Note 22.
