- Description
- Continuous Flow Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer. 1. The Invitation for Bid has been changed to a Request for Proposal. 2. The due date for the proposal is 1 July 2002. Description: The expected use of this instrument is for water, plant and soil research involving stable isotopes. The stable isotopes of interest include 13C, 15N, 18O at both enriched and natural abundance levels. As an example, for a plant tissue sample, we are interested in the 13C and total C contigent and/or the 15N and total N content. The instrument should also have the capability of measuring labeled and natural abundance of gases, such as N2O. The basic system will consist of a bench top preparation unit for converting solid samples into gas that can be fed directly into the mass spectrometer for isotope analysis, a mass spectrometer unit and a computer and controlling soft- ware. More detailed specifications will be provided in the solicitation document. The procurement is unrestricted. The NAICS code is 334516. The small business size standard is 500 employees.
