Description
NA Sources Sought - The Communications and Electronics Command CECOM) Acquisition Center and PM-Soldier Sensors are seeking sources for Infrared/Visible Aiming Light/Illuminator and Spares. This is a Market Survey to identify any manufacturers who have commercially available infrared/visible aiming light/illuminator and spares that will interface the Army's current weapon systems. This device will provide an infrared aiming laser, a visible aiming laser, a fixed-beam white light, and an infrared illuminator. The device will be capable of operating both infrared or both visible beams simultaneously. The device will have dual activation controls. Lasers will be turned on and off with a remot e momentary control, and a mode selection/full-off control will be provided on the system housing which will prevent the momentary switch from functioning. In must be able to mount on a U.S. Army Standard Rail (MIL-STD-1913) using an interface device (rai lgrabber). The device will be mounted on the M16A2 Rifle and M4 Carbine equipped with the Military Standard Rail Adapter System (threshold), M16/M4 Modular Weapon System (threshold), the M9 Semi-Automatic Pistol (threshold), M16A2 Rifle (objective), the M 4 Carbine (objective), and the M11 Semi-Automatic Pistol (objective). The IR aiming laser will have a minimum range of 600 meters, and the IR illuminator will have a range of between 300 meters and 600 meters in clear, quarter-moon conditions. The visibl e aiming laser will have a range of 10 meters in daylight (threshold), 25 meters (objective). Daylight is defined as that time between sunrise and sunset, but not in direct sunlight. Each laser in the ILWLP will have a Non-ocular Hazard Distance (NOHD) o f 0 as defined byANSI.Z136.1-1993. If the IR illuminator is a fixed-beam type, a capability to diffuse the IR illuminator beam will be provided which will allow illumination of a 20x20x8 foot darkened enclosure. The white light (flashlight) will have a f ixed beam (threshold) or an adjustable beam (narrow to wide) (objective) and will provide facial recognition out to 15 meters (threshold), 25 meters (objective) inside a darkened room or enclosure. The device will weigh no more than six ounces with batter ies installed. The device must come with a TM, remote cable switch, mounting brackets for various weapons amongst other spares. This is a market survey requesting information only. No solicitation will be issued against this notice. This survey is also issued IAW the requirements of FAR Part 10 to determine the applicability of FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items.
