Description
NA This project consists of the renovation of three, 1950?s vintage, 3-story/1-story end wing barracks buildings at Fort Dix, New Jersey. The exterior consists of reinforced concrete beam/column construction infilled with concrete masonry units (CMU). The i nterior floor and roof slabs are of concrete beam/slab construction. All existing interior CMU partition walls, except walls around the existing fire towers, will be demolished. Both new fire towers will be constructed of CMU with concrete/steel column f oundations with CMU nonbearing walls and steel pan concrete stairs. All other new interior partition walls will be constructed of steel stud/gypsum board with egress and separation walls being fire rated. The base contract includes a complete interior re novation of the three buildings including an upgraded dining facility. Contract options include 1) Demolition and replacement of existing parking area, 2) new exterior doors, 3) patching/painting of exterior glazed finish, 4) upgrading the interior doors with card locksets, 5) addition of new parking areas, 6) replacement of exterior windows with blast resistant. Work includes connecting building to utilities such as water, sanitary sewer, electric, computer, telephone, and cable TV. Known hazards are as bestos and lead based paint. Estimated construction cost for this project is between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000. Liquidated damages are included in the contract, and bonding is required. The Invitation for Bid documents will be available on the web pag e on or about 2 July 2002 and hard copies will not be available. No written or fax requests shall be accepted. Contractors shall download this Invitation for Bid (including drawings) from the Internet at the following address: https://ebs.nap.usace.army.m il/AdvertisedSolicitations.asp on or after issue date of the Invitation for Bid. The official media of distribution for this procurement is the INTERNET WEB PAGE. All amendments to this Invitation for Bid will be posted to the Internet web page at the abo ve address. Hard copies of the amendment will not be furnished. It is the contractor?s responsibility to monitor the Internet web page for amendments. Interested contractors must register on the Internet. If any of the contractor?s information changes during the advertisement period, contractors are responsible to make changes to their user profile on the Internet. Failure to make changes in their user profile may cause a delay in receiving the Invitation for Bid and amendments. Bidders are responsibl e for printing paper copies of the Invitation for Bid including any drawings. Bids will be due on or about 6 August 2002 at 11:00 am. This procurement is unrestricted. The NAICS Code is 233320 with a size standard of $28.5 million. Affirmative action to i nsure equal employment opportunity is applicable to the resulting contract. Award will be made as a whole to one bidder. In order to be eligible to receive an award from this solicitation, you must be registered in the DODs Central Contractor Registratio n database as required by DFARS 204.7300 and comply with VETS-100 annual reporting as required by FAR 22.1310(b).
