- Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment and material, other than government furnished material, necessary for the upgrade of Lone Butte Substation to 230 kV. The work includes installing two temporary transmission lines (shoo-fly?s). Installing government furnished equipment consisting of 6 230-kV circuit breakers, 17 230-kV disconnect switches, 1 69-kV disconnect switch, 1 230/69-kV 50 MVA power transformer, 4 switch board control panels, bus support post insulators, and support steel. Other contractor work is concrete for foundations and pads, 230-kV pipe and strain bus, control cable installation and terminations. Unrestricted solicitation. All responsible bidders will be considered. Estimated cost of the project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 235310. Period of Performance: All work shall be completed in 185 days from notice to proceed. Place of Performance: Maricopa County, AZ. Requests for the Invitation for Bid (IFB) should be mailed to the Department of Energy at P.O. Box 6457, Phoenix, AZ 85005-6457 or faxed to (602) 352-2483 attention J. (John) P. Rynerson. The solicitation package to include specifications and drawings will be made available at no charge on/about July 17, 2002. All requests for this solicitation and/or questions concerning the requirement MUST be submitted in writing to the address listed above.
