Description
Under authority of U.S.C. 253(c)(1), FAR 6.302-1 the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda, Maryland intends to negotiate a contract with Rigaku/MSC, Inc., 9009 New Trails Dr., The Woodlands, TX 77381 to provide a MicroMax Generator/Optic system. The intended procurement will be classified under NAICS 334517, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, with a size standard of 500 Employees. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP). 1. The MicroMaxTM generator/optic system shall include the following: (A) Microfocus 50W X-ray Generator by Bede Scientific combined with the two-dimensional focusing optic manufactured by Osmis, Microfocus Confocal Max-FluxTM Optic (?CMF). Generator shall run at 30W; (B) Adapter for MAR detector; (C) Helium flow gauge and helium hoses for helium purging of Optic path; (D) Two-mode operation - maximum flux and maximum resolution; (E) No filament or moving parts. 2. Shall include an MicroMax mounting table. 3. Shall include an refrigerated heat exchanger (water cooled) including the following: (A) Two Flowmeters and hand shut off valves; (B) 30 micron particle filter. 4. The X-Stream 2000 cryogenic system shall include the following: (A) Cryogenic compressed module, temperature controller with temperature readout, helium expansion unit and stainless steel delivery hose and nozzle; (B) Flexible nozzle for positioning in nearly any orientation (vertical or horizontal); (C) Shall be capable of sustaining temperatures to -1800 C; (D) Nitrogen generator (source of 25 P.S.I. Nitrogen gas extracted from air). 5. The X-Stream 2000 positioning stand shall be capable of the following: (A) Rigid support and fine positioning of X-stream nozzle; (B) Cross-roller linear bearings for effortless movements (in-out and side-to-side) of nozzle.; (C) Positioning from vertical to thirty degrees below horizontal. 6. Shall include one walk-in radiation enclosure up to 15 feet with safety interlock. (Subject to change based on final room dimensions). The equipment shall be deemed acceptable after complete installation of the x-ray system and when the following performance specifications have been met: (1) Continual operation of the MicroMax generator for seven (7) days at 40kV and 0.60mA; (2) Continual operation of the X-stream 2000 for seven (7) days at -1800C. Note: Contractor need not be on-site for the entire testing process. Concerns that respond to this synopsis shall furnish concise responses directed specifically to the requirements mentioned above and are invited to submit capability statements in an original plus two (2) copies no later than fifteen(15) calendar days from the date of this announcement. Sources demonstrating the capability to accomplish the above shall supply pertinent information in sufficient detail to demonstrate their ability to perform. NOTE: 22, Not withstanding the forty-five (45) days, notice of receipt of capability statements must be received within fifteen (15) days from publication in the FedBizOpps.
