Description
The Central Texas Veterans Health Care System (CTVHSC) Contracting Office (90C) anticipates awarding of a Firm-Fixed-Price Service Contract for removal and disposal of Biomedical Waste from the Veterans Satellite Outpatient Clinic located in Austin, Texas. Contract period will be for a base period of 12 months and four one-year option periods, commencing on October 1, 2002. Services shall consist of, but not limited to, biomedical waste collection, removal, transportation, and incineration. Contractor shall provide all necessary containers for packaging and transportation of waste from the facility. Each container will be individually bar-coded for tacking purposes. Boxes sized to contain 20-40 pounds of medical waste will conform to applicable laws governing the packaging of medical waste for transportation and disposal. Contractor shall be registered with the Texas Department of Health to transport special wastes from health care facilities and must comply with all applicable City, State, and Federal regulations governing disposal of medical waste. Proof of registration will be required prior to award. Contractor shall provide a compliance package and a manifest copy will be left at the Warehouse AOPC when waste is picked up. After disposal, another manifest copy will be provided to ensure that proper disposal by incineration was performed. Following the guidelines outlined in FAR Part 12, it is anticipated that a Request for Quotation (RFQ) will be issued for acquisition of this commercial service. The applicable NAISC code is 562211, and procurement shall be non-restrictive. The anticipated issued date of the written RFQ is o/a 7/09/02, and the proposal due date is 7/26/02, 4:30 PM, C.S.T. Only written requests for the RFQ, submitted on company letterhead will be accepted, and may be faxed to 254-771-4503. Note: This requirement is Subject to the Availability of Funding.
