Description

McConnell AFB, KS (Wichita, Kansas-area) has a need for a contractor to provide all management, labor, tools, equipment, transportation, and materials necessary to renovate (in accordance with provided drawings and specifications) 41 military family housing units. Units consist of seven different unit types. The dollar value of the contract is expected to be between $1 million and $5 million. The required work includes but is not limited to repairing, replacing, and improving selected items that have fire/life safety deficiencies, contain deteriorated or worn materials, and have substandard conditions. The fire/life safety deficiencies include: installation of draft stops between duplex units, replacement and enclosure of basement stairways, and replacement of outdated electrical wiring. One escapable daylight window will be added to each basement. The deteriorated materials include: HVAC/mechanical equipment, wood floors, driveways, sidewalks, stoops, and exterior brick and fascia that are all worn beyond their useful life, and require replacement. The basement areas of all units and the bathrooms of the Senior Officer?s Quarters will be improved to current area housing standards. The contract?s performance period shall be for a period not to exceed 360 days. This solicitation is being made as a full and open competition. The primary North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 233220 and the primary Standard Industrial Classification code is 1522. The Solicitation package will be available on or around July 11, 2002 via the Federal Biz Ops electronic posting site at www.eps.gov. A site visit is planned for Monday, July 22, 2002. More information on the site visit will be forthcoming via notices on the Electronic Posting System.
