- DESCRIPTION: The National Park Service, Isle Royale National Park, is soliciting proposals for all labor, materials and transportation necessary to re-power, sandblast, pre-prep and paint Monark aluminum boats for Isle Royale National Park, Houghton, Michigan. Isle Royale National Park is a large, remote island encompassing 571,790 acres in Lake Superior located 70 miles from the mainland administrative area in Houghton, Michigan. Access to the island is limited to boat, and due to the duration of travel daily commutes are not an option which necessitates stays of a few days in duration. The park is open from late April through October. Offerors will be asked to provide pricing for a Basic and Optional Requirement. Work identified as the Basic Requirement is for two boats.
