Description
The Atlanta Area Office of Contracting is currently seeking potential sources for installation of resilient athletic flooring at the Marine Corps Reserve Center, in Rome, GA. The intent of this notice is to determine the most efficient and cost effective method of providing the installation. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. This Notice will determine the method of procurement used in acquiring the services. A government request for quotes to provide these services is being developed and a contract may or may not result. The scope is as follows: The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation and supervision necessary to provide a prefabricated, homogeneous, natural and synthetic rubber floor, and shall be minimum 3/16 inch thick, and shall have smooth gymnasium finish. Flooring shall have a minimum tensile stress at 100 percent elongation of 220 psi and a minimum ultimate elongation of 250 percent when tested in accordance with ASTM D 412. Flooring shall be able to withstand 50 percent compression for 72 hours at 72 degrees F with a residual deformation of less than 10 percent when tested in accordance with ASTM D 395. Flooring shall provide a 55 plus or minus 5 percent rebound when tested in accordance with ASTM D 1054. Installation of the flooring system shall be completed by an installer approved by the flooring manufacturer. The work shall be performed in accordance with the installation instructions of the manufacturer. Adhere to all MSDS requirements for materials employed in the work. The aforementioned is not intended to be all inclusive but rather to provide an overview of the specifications. It is the Government's intention to issue this solicitation exclusively through the Internet at http://www.esol.navfac.navy.mil. Depending on the responses received from this notice, the entire solicitation may or may not be available at the site for viewing or downloading. Prospective offerors are encouraged to register at the web site. This will normally be the only method of distribution of amendments, therefore it is the offeror's responsibility to periodically check the web site for amendments to the solicitation. The official plan holders list will also be maintained on and can be printed from the web site. RFQ issuance date will be on or about July 1, 2002. Any resultant contract will have a performance period of 90 calendar days. The contract type will be a firm fixed-price. This is a simplified acquisition procedure procurement under FAR Part 13. The NAICS CODE for this procurement is 235520 with a size standard of $12 Million. This is not a request for proposals and no solicitation is available at this time. The Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. Market research is being conducted to determine interest and capability of potential sources for this requirement. Do not submit capability statements; instead, companies wishing to respond are invited to go to the web site at http://www.esol.navfac.navy.mil to download the associated market survey file.
