Description

17. This announcement is for informational purposes only. No proposals or capability statements are sought or will be considered for this procurement. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)intends to award a noncompetitive contract to Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), Center for Nuclear Waste Regulatory Analyses (CNWRA), NRC's Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC). The work will involve technical assistance to the NRC to assist in the licensing of the MOX fuel fabrication facility. The period of performance is approximately two years with three option years. This procurement is being negotiated on a noncompetitive basis with SwRI to maintain essential capabilities at the CNWRA (reference FAR 6.302-3(b)(2)). It has been determined that this work falls within the CNWRA's areas of special competencies.
