Description

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) intends to enter into a sole source purchase order award with Serco Assurance Inc. for annual license of WIMS8 software (Qty 2). The software will be used to perform independent confirmatory lattice physics analyses. The NRC requires a code that uses a cross section library that is different than the one being used in the analyses being assessed. The NRC also requires the ability to use different solution algorithms in our assessment. WIMS8 is the only known code available that uses both a different cross section library and has multiple solution algorithms. The Period of Performance will be August 1, 2002 through July 31, 2003. The Government intends to negotiate solely with Serco Assurance, Winfrith Technology Centre, Winfrith, Dorchester, Dorset DT2 8ZE, United Kingdom, for a firm fixed price purchase order for this commercial item. A request for quotation does not exist. Interested respondents must submit a written capability statement including technical information sufficient to demonstrate a bona fide written capability to meet this requirement to the address shown above no later than 15 calendar days from date announcement appears in the Federal Business Opportunities. Telephonic responses and responses providing insufficient information for evaluation will not be considered.
