- NA The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District intends in a sealed bidding method to award a contract for performance of maintenance dredging in the Moriches Bay Reach of Long Island Intracoastal Waterway, Long Island, New York Federal Navigation Chan nel and its disposal on East Inlet Island, in the vicinity of Moriches Inlet, New York. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 234990 with a small business size standard of $28.5million. This procurement is 100% Small Business Set-Aside for Small Business Concerns only. The Estimated Cost for this project is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. The work consists of furnishing all plant, labor, materials and equipment, and performing all work in strict accordance with the specifications a nd drawings for the dredging of material from Moriches Bay Reach of Long Island Intracoastal Waterway, Long Island, New York. Federal Navigation Channel, Approximately 71,300 cubic yards of material above the grade of 6 feet MLW with a vertically applied 2 feet overdepth are presently available in the Basic Work at Moriches Bay. Additional 14,000 cubic yards of material above the grade of 6 feet MLW with a vertically applied 2 feet overdepth may be available under the Optional Work (if awarded) at Moriche s Bay. The duration of the project is approximately 84 calendar days for completion of Basic Work and 6 calendar days for completion of Optional Work (if awarded). The media selected for the issuance of solicitations and amendments shall solely be at the discretion of the Government; accordingly, the media utilized for this project are the Internet and CD-ROM. Paper copies of this Solicitation, and amendments, if any, will be not available or issued. Interested parties may download and print the solicit ation, at no charge, at http://nan.usace.army.mil. (Contracting Opportunities). Project specification files and drawings are portable Document (PDF) files and can be viewed, navigated, or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Minimum system requirements ar e 486 based personal computer, Microsoft Windows 3.1 or greater, 8 MB application RAM. A registration page is attached to the web site, and prospective bidders are required to register to receive notice of any amendments and or addenda that may be issued to the solicitation. Utilization of the Internet is the preferred method, however, CDs will be available upon written request stating the Solicitation Number, or Project Name, complete company name and street address (we will NOT deliver to P.O. boxes), t elephone and facsimile number (including area codes). Make check or money order payable in the amount of $5.00 to ?FAO, USAED, NY?. Solicitation documents for this dredging work will be available on or about 8 July 2002. The apparent successful bidder mu st be registered in the Department of Defense Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. Award will not be made until this requirement is met.
