- Description
- The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) intends to negotiate a follow-on contract to continue training services with Texas A&M University to provide training for veterinarians and inspectors. The follow-on services is to continue the operation of a training facility for meat and poultry inspection with a college or university setting where there already exists a school of veterinary medicine and a curriculum in food technology and/or meat science. The Food Safety and Inspection Service is continuing this effort in the interest of reinforcing the scientific professional capabilities of the Agency and allow time for the agency to re-evaluate the training needs for the future based on new iniatives for the awarding of a new contract. Follow-on services to begin October 1, 2002 through September 30, 2003. FSIS anticipates awarding a one-year contract, with up to a one year option period. The procurement shall be processed under the authority of 41 USC253(c)(1), only one responsible source. This notice of itent is not a solicitation for competitive proposals. No telephone inquiries. See numbered note 22. NOTE: However, FSIS is allowing 15 days response to be considered versus dates noted in note 22.
