Description
The United States Department of Justice (DOJ), Executive Office for United States Attorneys, intends to issue a Request for Proposals for a gunfire detection system in Charleston, South Carolina, in support of the United States Attorney's Office, District of South Carolina. The system will be located in two distinct areas and should be capable of covering a range of 1-2 square miles in each area. It should be able to locate gunshots within said area and display the location of the gunshots within seconds of the event on a computer map of the community. The system should be able to provide audio output of the gunshots and must be equipped with an automatic notification system to inform the Government when a gunshot has been detected. The successful offeror will be required to furnish the necessary personnel, material, equipment, and services to install this gunshot detection system. The successful offeror will also be required to provide maintenance support of the system to include preventive and corrective maintenance, spare parts support, software/hardware upgrades, and training. The Government anticipates a base period of twelve months for the resultant contract with two additional option periods of one year each for a total period of performance of thirty-six (36) months. The Request for Proposals (RFP) will be available on or about July 09, 2002 with a due date for receipt of proposals approximately thirty (30) days after issuance of the RFP. The RFP will be distributed solely through the General Service Administration's "Federal Business Opportunities" web site, http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Hard copies of the RFP itself will not be available. Interested parties should periodically check this Internet site for information regarding the schedule and this acquisition.
