- Description
- This project shall selectively clear all dead and downed trees within 50 feet on both sides of marked trails within the Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge, located in Becker County near Rochert, Minnesota. In addition, all living and dead tree limbs and branches overhanging the trails shall be removed from ground level to a height of 12 feet. To minimize impact on Refuge wildlife, all of this work is to be performed by mechanical and manual means during annual periods between September 1 and March 1. A heavy-duty wood chipper owned by the Refuge may be used in accomplishing this work, but all other equipment, tools and labor shall be provided by the contractor. The Refuge is predominantly forested with a mix of hardwoods and softwoods, and not unduly hilly or rocky.
