Description
The Bureau of Engraving & Printing (BEP) is requesting quotations from vendors for a quantity of 350 hanging acrylic frames. The frames shall be 24 15/16 inches-wide x 21 1/8 inches-long with a thickness of 1/10 inch. The acrylic frame is one piece of acrylic that is doubled-sided to form a U shape so that a 32-subject sheet of U.S. currency can be placed between the acrylic, resting in the bended U portion of the acrylic. Each side of the bended U shape shall be 21 1/18 inches long. The edges of the acrylic shall be polished smooth. Along the top edge of the acrylic, 2 holes shall be drilled for hanging purposes. Along the top outer side of the acrylic frame, a wooden rail shall be attached to the acrylic, one on each side. The rail shall be made from clear oak satin and shall also have two holes drilled into the wood to match the two holes drilled into the acrylic. This will leave the top of the acrylic frame open to form a slot that the customer can insert a 32-subject sheet of currency into the frame. A brass chain, approximately 28 inches in length, using S hooks, shall be attached to the frame through the drilled holes to be used for hanging the frame. Pack one frame per polybag and put into special book fold. Attached is a drawing for vendors in manufacturing this frame entitled 32-Subject Hanging Acrylic Display, Proposal #1. Delivery is requested on July 15, 2002. The simplified acquisitions procedures set forth in FAR Parts 12 and 13 shall be used. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation. This notice constitutes the only solicitation; a written request for quotation will not be issued. The request for quotation (RFQ) number is RFQ 28-040. This procurement is 100% set aside for small businesses. The small business size is 500 employees. Delivery terms are F.O.B. Destination to the BEP loading dock at D Street, between 13th & 14th Street, S.W. Washington, DC. The basis for award shall be price and delivery. The apparent successful awardee may be required to submit a prototype frame to determine acceptability for award. All interested suppliers are requested to submit a written quotation that will be considered by the agency. Quotations my be submitted on a SF 1449 or on company letterhead. Quotations shall include the RFQ number, the proposed unit price, the proposed extended price, any prompt payment discount terms, delivery time, company name, point of contact, address, phone number, fax number, tax identification number, duns number and size status (i.e., small business, disadvantage business or woman owned business).
