- Description
- The purpose of this modificaction is to answer several questions and to include an uploaded copy of a C-Package drawing as follows: QUESTIONS: 1. What is the foot print of Diode Array (i.e., height, width and depth). Can comparable or smaller be used? The Arrays have gotten smaller over the years. ANSWER: A drawing is attached showing the mechanical dimensions of an SDL C-Package. The solicited device packaging must be identical as they are desired to fit into existing NASA-made housings for pumping solid-state laser rods. 2. I any lensing required? ANSWER: No lensing is required. 3. Why is 6 100 watt diode bar needed? Can a 2 100 diode bar be used if it meets the other specifications? ANSWER: A total power from all bars of 600 watts is required. It would seem that 2 100 watt bars would only generate a total of 200 watts 4. Is the total output required by each array 600 watts or 100 watts? ANSWER: The total output from each array is 600 watts. The uploaded document is a drawing of a C-package device. This drawing was made in-house at NASA LaRC by measuring an existing devise.
