Description
THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR LOADFRAME CONTROL SYSTEM UPGRADE. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to provide the following questions and answers. 1. Can you describe the system functon of the loadframe? Answer: It generally applies load or strain to samples under test and monitors these parameters over the duration of experiments. 2. Can you provide a description of the control system? Answer: It makes the above described functions completely computer automated. 3. Where is the loadframe system located? Answer: It is located at NASA Langley Research Center. 4. What are the anticipated quantities? Answer: We need one controller. 5. What are the dimensions of the existing MTS Model 458 Controller? Answer: The hardware box of the controller occupies about one quarter of a standard instrument rack. 6. Will the upgraded control system be limited to those same dimensions? Answer: It should be approximately the same size described in item 5 above. Plus, a standard PC control computer with approximate software, and interface card will be the part of the control system. The due date for receipt of offers is not extended. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on 06/17/02. Documents related to this procurement are available over the Internet and are in Microsoft Office 97 format and reside on the World Wide Web (WWW) server which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
