Description
ITEM 1, G.A. Braun _ Model 250PT-NFG, 220 Pound capacity, Natural Gas Heated Production Tumbler Model 220 Pound Gas Heated Drying and Conditioning Tumbler: Furnish and install one (1) each G.A. Braun model 250PT-NFG, 220-pound gas heated dryer. The dryer covered by this document shall be a dual roll-up type door, pass through type dryer, one way tilting for shuttle loading and automatic unloading to an existing loading and unloading conveyor. The dryer must be inter-connected to the existing Braun washer and dryer computer system that automatically controls wash loads to the dryer. The cylinder size (rated capacity) shall be 220 dry weight pounds, based upon a maximum 2.96 pounds per cubic foot of cylinder space. The dryer must be capable of drying two full loads and two conditioning loads per hour from the existing computerized tunnel washer and washer extractors. The types of textiles processed are normal hospital linen, sheets, pillowcases, bath blankets, thermal blankets, towels, wash cloths, patients clothing, uniforms, bed pads and surgical linens. Equipment must be compatible and inter-connected with an existing Braun computerized tunnel shuttle and drying system. Space and equipment size limitations do exist for this dryer location. 1. Drying and conditioning tumbler, laundry, commercial type, pass through type. 2. Commercial preservation, packaging and packing required. 3. Size _ 220 dry weight pounds based upon a maximum 2.96 pounds per cubic foot of cylinder space. 4. Electrical characteristics - 480 volts, 3 phase, 60 cycles. 5. Dryer shall be microprocessor controlled and interconnected to the existing G.A. Braun computer controlled dryer shuttle. The dryer shall be capable of programming drying formulas by each category of textiles. 6. Tumbler shall be provided with protective non-stick cylinder coating providing 4000-production hour guarantee. 7. Tumbler shall be provided with removable cylinder panels and provided with protective non-stick cylinder coating providing 4000-production hour guarantee. 8. Reversing and non-reversing required. 9. Tumbler shall be Gas heated. 10. Light required to designate that tumbler is in operation. 11. The tumbler shall be exhausted/connected to an existing wet type lint collector, located on the roof of the laundry. All ductwork shall be galvanized steel and new to the existing lint collector. 12. Tumbler's air intake and exhaust air shall be derived and directed to and from the outside of the laundry-building atmosphere. 13. Drying and conditioning tumbler shall have a beacon rotary light (colored YELLOW) identifying end of drying cycle for the hearing impaired. Dryer shall also have an audible alarm to indicate when drying cycle has ended. 14. Dryer shall be equipped with excess temperature sprinkler protection. 15. A flow alarm valve shall be installed in the fire suppression system and connected to a rotary beacon light (colored RED) and audible alarm, located on the dryer, to indicate if a fire exists in the dryer. 16. Normal stop push buttons and emergency stop buttons shall be colored red. An illuminating (when activated) emergency stop button shall be installed on the drying conditioning tumbler. 17. Drying conditioning tumbler shall be equipped with lockout/tag out for servicing and maintenance of equipment. Tags and locks shall be provided by the successful offeror. 18. Air intake and exhaust ductwork shall have easily accessible removable access panels installed for easy clean-out and manual fire fighting. Air intake and exhaust air ductwork shall be insulated and wrapped with colored PVC plastic covering with identification and flow markings. 19. All ductwork located outside the building shall be insulated, wrapped with aluminum jacketing, weatherproofed, sealed watertight to protect from damage from the environment. All ductwork located outside shall be identified and have directional flow markings installed. 20. Dryer shall be equipped with one way tilting for loading and unloading of textiles. 21. Dryer shall be designed/equipped to prevent placement of objects under the tilting portion of the dryer. 22. Dryer shall be capable of being shuttle loaded from an existing Gardner/Braun computerized dryer loading shuttle system. The successful offeror shall be responsible to install any additional software and programming necessary for the automatic loading and unloading of the dryer. 23. Dryer shall be equipped with a manual override device to permit opening of the dryer door in case of a power failure. 24. Dryer shall be equipped with excess temperature cutout switches or relays and operating temperature controls. 25. Ductwork configuration shall be a minimum 24-inch cylindrical design and be of galvanized steel construction. The length of ductwork from dryer to lint collector shall not exceed 60 feet in length. 26. If necessary, to meet OSHA space requirements, dryer shall be equipped with lift out side panel doors in lieu of hinged doors for the mechanic_s use for maintenance. ITEM 2 G.A. Braun Sigma Small Piece Folding Machines: Furnish and install two (2) each, microprocessor-controlled G.A. Braun Sigma Small Piece Folders capable folding pajama tops, pajama bottoms, robes, terry bath towels, bed pads and gowns. Folders shall be located near the folding table so they may be used in tandem. Folder shall include a digital counter and return-to-feed conveyor. Space limitations do exist for these small piece folders. Ordering Data for Small Piece Folder Machine: 1. Folding machine shall be microprocessor controlled. 2. Folding machine shall be capable of being programmed for a minimum of twenty (20) different items and folds. 3. Folding machine is capable of being programmed by keypad for half folds, quarter folds one-third folds. 4.Machine is capable of folding terry towels, hand towels, bed pads, pajama tops, pajama bottoms, patient gowns. 5. Machine is capable of stacking in increments of 5's, 10's 15's 20's and 25's. 6. Machine has quality grading controls for stained and torn items. 7. Electrical Requirements - 480 volts, 3 phase, 60 hertz 8. Four (4) each lockable castors required. 9. Single operator with return to feed conveyor. 10. LED piece counter required. 11. Folder shall be equipped with reverse jog capabilities for removing jammed articles. 12. Folder shall be return to feed conveyor. 13. The small piece folder shall have a powered face width control ranging from 6 inches to 12 inches. 14. The folding machines shall be equipped with an illuminating emergency stop button (colored RED) when activated, shall render the folder inoperable. ITEM 3 G.A. Braun Delta Three Roll Flatwork Ironing System: Furnish and install one (1) each, G.A. Braun Delta microprocessor-controlled flatwork ironing system. System shall be capable of adjusting the speeds of the ironer, and folder-cross-folder machines from one location. The flatwork ironing system shall consist of: A - Ordering Data for Flatwork Ironer 1. Three roll, Thirty-Two inch (32_) Ironer, Flatwork, Large Roll, Commercial (Apron-less) steam heated flatwork ironer with canopy and power exhaust through roof. Exhausting ventilating canopy that conforms to the manufacturer's standard method of exhausting heat from the rolls will be considered. 2. Operating Steam Pressure at 120 PSI, Production - 1079 pillowcases per hour, 971 (36 inches X 36 inches) double thickness cotton surgical wraps per hour, 1439 (24 inches X 24 inches) double thickness cotton surgical wraps per hour. 3. Condensate Trap with Valve & by-pass required. 4. Install steam inlet pressure and temperature gauges. Steam pressure and temperature gauge shall be installed separately on the steam inlet line prior to entering the ironer. 5. Electrical characteristics - 480 volts, 3 phase, 60 cycles. 6. Ironers shall be installed level. 7. Manufacturer's standard padding and/or covers shall be used on chest-type ironer. 8. Roll guards (colored RED) required. 9. Electrical reversing of drives required. 10. Underside of chest shall be insulated. 11. Motors shall be protected to prevent lint from entering motors. 12. A stainless steel trough shall be installed/attached in front of the ironer for holding small pieces. 13. The ironer shall have an adjustable speed control installed capable of being adjusted and synchronized to the speeds of the flatwork ironer and folder from 40 fpm to 180 fpm. 14. The flatwork ironer shall have a waxing program installed that will automatically turn off the vacuum during waxing and cleaning operations. 1. The flatwork ironer shall be equipped with each roll capable of locking automatically in the raised position to prevent accidental lowering if loss of air pressure should occur. 16. Furnish and install two (2), fifty (50) foot blow-down devices with automatic wind up hose reel, capable of reaching around the ironing system. Blow-down devices shall include gauged air pressure regulators capable of regulating air pressure from 0 PSI to 30 PSI. 17. Install a 360-degree sphere mirror above the ironer system that shall allow visual observation of, ironer and folder operation. 18. Thermocouples shall be installed on each end of the ironer chest or rolls with remote digital temperature readouts. Digital LED display shall be a minimum 1/2-inch in height. 19. Thermocouple shall be installed on the incoming steam supply line with remote digital temperature readout. Digital LED temperature display shall be a minimum 1/2-inch in height. 20. Thermocouple shall be installed on the condensate steam return line with remote digital temperature readout. Digital LED temperature display shall be a minimum 1/2-inch in height. 21. Thermocouples shall be installed on the transfer plates (if applicable) with remote digital temperature readout. Digital LED temperature display shall be a minimum 1/2-inch in height. 22. Thermocouple shall be installed on the exhaust of the ironer with remote digital temperature readout. Digital LED temperature display shall be a minimum 1/2-inch in height. 23. All remote digital LED temperature readouts for above thermocouples shall be located within the same area of the ironer, behind clear side Lucite panels, and labeled. 24. For allowing visual observation of the mechanical systems, install scratch and shatter-proof, clear (for the equipment life expectancy), Lucite side panels / doors on both the right and left sides of the, ironer, and folder in lieu of metal side panels. 25. Panels shall be mounted with-in the doors, flush with the sides of the system and shall be a minimum of 3/8 inches in thickness. 26. Panels / doors shall be protected with a guard around the center to prevent carts or other devices from damaging the panels. Panels / doors shall be equipped with fasteners/locks to secure them to the system. 27. Ironer shall be equipped with illuminating emergency stop buttons (colored RED) when activated at each end of the ironer, interlocked with the entire ironing system and when activated shall render the entire ironing system (ironer, folder cross folder) inoperable. The ironing system must also be able to be interlocked with an existing Braun Alpha 1200 Spreader Feeder machine currently being used on another system should the need occur. 28. Provide 4-Plex receptacles at each equipment location for mechanics use. ITEM 4 G.A. Braun Omega Folder Cross Folder with Large Piece Stacker Conveyor: Furnish and install one (1) each _ Four lane primary and three lane crossfold combination folder-cross-folder. Folder shall be an integral unit equipped with a conveyor feed and capable of meeting ironer production requirements. The folder cross folder shall also be equipped with a four-lane drape stacker. Production requirements - 1079 Pillowcases per hour, 971 (36 inches X 36 inches) double thickness cotton surgical wraps per hour, 1439 (24 inches X 24 inches) double thickness cotton surgical wraps per hour. 1. Combination folder-cross folder, four-lane with four-lane drape stacker. 2. Four-lane folder crossfolder shall be capable of receiving small pieces from the flatwork ironer. 3. Electrical characteristics - 480 volts, 3 phase, 60 cycles. 4. Folding machine shall be installed, leveled and have a leveling device installed on the machine. 5. Folding machine shall be equipped with four (4) lockable casters. 6. Folding machine shall be electrically interlocked to the ironing system. 7. Each lane shall be equipped with a counter to determine the number of small pieces folded. 8. The folding machine and stacker shall be equipped with an illuminating emergency stop buttons (colored RED) when activated, inter-locked with the entire ironing system and when activated shall render the entire ironing system (ironer, folder cross-folder and stacker) inoperable. The ironing system must also be able to be interlocked with an existing Braun Alpha 1200 Spreader Feeder machine currently being used on another system should the need occur. 9. Folder shall have reverse jog capability. 10. The folder cross folder control shall be a field programmable microprocessor control with an alphanumeric display, providing a minimum number of programs for folding currently being used by the facility. The folder cross folder control shall be capable of changing the operation of the entire automated folder cross folder system to the required functional configuration for the specific item being processed by simply choosing the appropriate program. A lock out feature shall be included to prevent unauthorized programming. 11. The folder cross-folder shall be equipped with trouble shooting for use in case of a component failure. 12. The folder cross-folder shall be equipped with a totalizing digital display counter on each of the folding lanes. 13. The folder cross folder shall operate compatibly with the flatwork ironer operating at a speed range from 30 feet per minute to 200 feet per minute. 14. The stacker conveyor shall operate as an integral part of the folder cross-folder. 15. The stacker conveyor shall maintain the quality of the folded items during the stacking process. 16. The stacker conveyor shall be capable of receiving folded flatwork from the folder cross-folder and drop release the flatwork into precise stack by using a combination centering conveyor, drop blade mechanism and air operated disc brake. 17. The stacker shall be microprocessor controlled. 18. The stacker conveyor shall operate with a predetermined stack count of up to 20 large piece flatwork items and shall automatically transport in increments providing space for the next stack. 19. The stacker conveyor shall have lockable casters and be of the modular concept so that it can simply be plugged into the folder cross-folder for utility connections by using quick disconnects. 20. electrical characteristics - 480 volts, 3 phase, 60 cycles. 21. For allowing visual observation of the mechanical systems, install scratch and shatter-proof, clear (for the equipment life expectancy), Lucite side panels / doors on both the right and left sides of the folder-cross folder and stacker in lieu of metal side panels.
