CBDNet ANNOUNCEMENT: PRESOLICITATION NOTICE ACTION CODE: <PRESOL> CLASSIFICATION CODE: 71 SUBJECT: Custom Fabricated Cabinets/Components SOLICITATION NUMBER: 02-351-7697 RESPONSE DATE: July 8, 2002 CONTACT POINTS: Carol A. Hammill, Contracting Officer, 301-975-6311, Fax 301-869-0459 DESCRIPTION: The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (1) with Barrons Enterprises Inc., of Gaithersburg, MD, for custom fabricated cabinets and components. ***Sole Source determination is based on the following: The custom-fabricated cabinets and components have been designed to match wooden doors to an existing conference room at NIST. The wooden doors were custom designed and fabricated by Barrons Enterprises. Since Barrons Enterprises custom designed and supplied the original cabinetry/components, they are uniquely qualified to replicate identical componentry. The Associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 337211, with a small business size standard of 500 employees. ***No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by July 8, 2002. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. NO FAX QUOTATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
