- NA The U. S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command is planning to issue a solicitation for effort entitled, ?INFRARED INSTRUMENTATION SYSTEM (IRIS) MISSION SUPPORT.? The Iris Mission Support (IMS) effort includes the conduct of all activities necessary to p rovide efficient and effective use of the IRIS in a mission support role, to include premission planning, analyses, and data inputs; system maintenance, calibration, operations, and logistics; system improvement and modernization (I&M); post ;mission data reduction, data review, and infrared data analysis support; as well as associated documentation and reporting. The contractor shall prepare & present briefings to support pre & postmission meetings addressing sensor capabilities, se nsor technical performance, test support plans (TSP), mission support logistics, and data reduction & delivery schedules. The contractor shall also prepare a quicklook data report, a preliminary data report, and a final report for each mission. Th e contractor shall be responsible for the data reduction, analysis, and assessment of the data quality of the IR and visible data collected by the IRIS. The contractor shall perform all of the following IMS data reduction activities: Assess, define, refin e, and update data reduction techniques, procedures, and software. Prepare, maintain, update, and deliver data reduction software and associated data reduction documentation to the government. The contractor shall perform & prepare analyses and interpret ations of IR data describing the measured events, and correlate these results with premission predictions, other mission data, and other sensor data. The contractor shall perform and document the results of pre-mission and post-mission calibrations ; optical alignments; and system readiness, performance verification, and characterization tests. The contractor shall perform all system operational tasks (including aircraft installation/integration, system checkout, system operations during data collec tion, and system removal from aircraft) as necessary for the operation of the IRIS and to affect the collection of the required data. The contractor shall support onsite pre-mission/postmission technical interchange meetings/reviews, as re quired. The contractor shall maintain, repair, and/or replace any defective IRIS sensor, calibration, and data reduction system elements, and any support equipment. This acquisition will be a competitive procurement set-aside for small businesses. The N AICS is 541710. The small business size standard is 1,000 employees. The basic contract will be a cost plus fixed fee type contract have a one-year period of performance. The contract will also include two one-year options for additional effort. No for eign participation is anticipated in this acquisition.
