Description

The U.S. Secret Service (USSS) intends to negotiate and award a indefinite delivery indefinite quantity fixed unit price contract on a sole source basis with Motorola, Inc. for the purchase of land mobile radio equipment which supports the legacy (backward compatible) program. Under this short term contract, Motorola will provide radio equipment to include, low band, VHF, UHF and 800 Hhz handie-talkies, mobile radios, comparators, voting receivers, key variable loaders, digital interface units, control center consoles, modems, pagers, base stations, repeaters, transportable trip equipment, test equipment and their accessories and installation. This contract is intended to be a short term solution only that will span the gap between expiring contracts and the award of the new Treasury-Justice consolidated LMR contracts. Motorola equipment meets the migration requirement for the new APCO P25 TIA/E1A system compliance. The U.S. Government approved FIPS 140-1, Data Encryption Standard (DES) voice privacy feature shall be included in this type of radio equipment. There is no solicitation regarding this sole source synopsis. Only written responses per e-mail (jwinters@usss.treas.gov) address received by 2 p.m. EDST, July 2, 2002 will be accepted.
