- Description
- The International Boundary and Water Commission (IBWC), Unites States Section, requires the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, supplies, supervision and coordination required for blast cleaning operations for removal of existing paint and repainting operations for four (4) U.S. radial gates at Amistad Dam. Each radial gate measures fifty (50) feet wide by fifty four (54) feet high and has a radius of fifty two (52) feet. The work under the contract is to be completed in 150 days calendar from the date of issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The contractor shall be a certified SSPC-QP 1 Painting Contractor, or shall have qualifying experience. Qualifying experience shall be defined as a minimum of 3 projects within the past 5 years involving surface cleaning and coating application of hydraulic structures in accordance with SSPC specifications. The work is at the IBWC Amistad Dam located on the Rio Grande, approximately fourteen (14) miles upstream from the town of Del Rio, Texas. The dam is centered on the international boundary between the United States and Mexico; work under this contract will not require equipment or personnel to enter Mexico. Tentative dates for issuing and closing IFB no. IBM02B0008 are July 2, 2002 and July 31, 2002, respectively. The estimated price range is between $250,000 and $500,000. Plans and specifications will be available for inspection, without charge, at the International Boundary and Water Commission, U. S. Section, The Commons, Building C, Suite 224, 4171 North Mesa Street, El Paso, Texas 79902-1441. No Facsimile requests will be accepted. There will be no charge for the solicitation packet. Offers are solicited from small business concerns. Offers received from businesses that are not small businesses concerns will not be considered. The 2002 North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 238320 for Painting and Wall Coverings Contractors. The associated small business size standard is 12 million dollars annual average gross receipts for the past three years. See Notes 1 and 26.
