Thursday, July 18, 2002 The Johnson Center Building George Mason University - Fairfax Campus Fairfax, VA 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. The Pentagon Renovation (PenRen) Program Small Business Office and George Mason University?s Procurement Technical Assistance Program (PTAP) are sponsoring a small business conference to be held on 18 July 2002 (7:30 AM to 3:30 PM) on the campus of George Mason University, Johnson Center, 4400 University Drive, Fairfax, Virginia Online registrations for small business attendees are now being accepted. The conference and registration website address is: http://hqdainet.army.mil/sb . More information (conference agenda, hotel/airport information, driving directions, etc.) is available on the website. THERE ARE NO FEES FOR THIS CONFERENCE! IT IS FREE TO ALL ATTENDEES AND EXHIBITORS!! The primary purpose of the conference is to provide networking opportunities with prime contractors, their subcontractors, and various government agencies which have potential procurements for small businesses. The conference will consist of a main exhibit hall with representatives of various commercial enterprises/government agencies available to discuss business opportunities and a series of workshops and panels that we hope will be of interest to small businesses. The workshops and panels will cover topics such as: Major Issues Facing Small Business (Panel) How to Market to Prime Contractors (Panel) SBA Small Business Programs Small Business Subcontracting Program & Indian Incentive Program How to Prepare a Responsive Proposal Building Your Small Business How to do Business with the Federal Government Electronically Veteran-Owned Small Business Program (Panel) Mentor-Protege Programs (Panel) Successful Teaming Arrangements Government Commercial Purchase Card Federal Supply Schedule (GSA) Program One of the areas we?re stressing to our exhibitors is to be prepared to talk about SPECIFIC CONTRACTING OPPORTUNITIES. We?re also encouraging the exhibitors to discuss opportunities both inside and outside the requirements of PenRen.
