Description
This proposed SABER (Simplified Acquisition of Base Engineering Requirements) acquisition will be set aside for two competitive 8(a) concerns that have a bona fide place of business approved by the Salt Lake City District Office of the SBA (Small Business Administration). The government anticipates significant subcontracting activity under this contract. In order to be eligible for an award, registration in the Central Contractor Registration database (http://www.ccr.com) is required. Work for this project will include, but is not limited to a broad range of maintenance, repair and minor construction work on real property, such as carpentry, pavement repair, roofing excavation, high and low electrical voltage, plumbing, sheet metal, painting, concrete, masonry, welding and mechanical systems for the following locations at Hill AFB, and Related Sites. The work is required in support of the Base Civil Engineer (BCE) activity. The contract will include a wide variety of individual construction tasks as listed in the Unit Price Book (RS Means Facilities Construction Cost Data). The BCE will identify construction requirements for each specific project, and the installation Saber Contracting Office will issue individual delivery orders to the contractor to complete those projects. The contractor will be required to furnish all materials, equipment, and personnel necessary to design, manage and accomplish the project. Individual jobs will vary in size from $2000 to 500K. The Government intends to award two (2) separate contracts using (Price/Performance Trade-off methods) to evaluate all offers. The total performance period for the contract will be 12 months for the basic contract period and seven (7) 12-month option periods. The total guaranteed minimum amount of $200,000 would be for the life of the contract. Estimated dollar value of the contract is $15,000,000 per contractor per year. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is all NAICS codes in section 23332. The issuance due date for this solicitation is anticipated for late July 2002, with a 45 calendar day response time. An industry day is anticipated for 16 Aug 02. This solicitation will be available electronically.
