Description
NA Beach Erosion Control and Hurricane Protection Project, Sandbridge Beach, Virginia Beach Virginia. The work consists of the beach nourishment of Sandbridge Beach, Virginia Beach, Virginia. The length of the project to be nourished is approximately 5 miles . The beach berm to be constructed will have a width approximately 50 feet at a height of 7 feet NGVD with a foreshore slope of 1 vertical on 20 horizontal. Approximately 1.5 million cubic yards of sand will be placed on the beach. The borrow area for this project is located offshore approximately 5 miles east of Sandbridge Beach. Environmental permits have been obtained by the Government and must be complied with by the Contractor. Marine turtles, piping plovers, least terns, and other native species that might be encountered in the scheduled work area are protected by federal law or are species of special concern for Commonwealth of Virginia agencies. All work to be performed on this contract shall be planned and accomplished in a manner to not disturb the nesting or foraging activities of these birds, marine life and wildlife in any way. The Contractor shall be required to maintain the beach and ocean work areas in a manner to ensure the safe access and egress of the public for the duration of the contract . A pre-bid conference will not be conducted; however, upon request the Contracting Office will coordinate a formal site visit. Magnitude of construction is $5,000,000 to $10,000,000. Duration of the project is 150 calendar days for performance. This is an Unrestricted Procurement. Applicable SIC code is 1629, with a size standard of $17 million. The NAICS code is 23499. The solicitation will be available on the internet only. No paper copies or CDs will be issued.
