- Description
- NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) laboratory facility in Morgantown, WV purchased a Micromass Quadruple time-of-flight mass spectrometer (Q-ToF-2) via competitive procedures in 1999. NIOSH now has a need to purchase an in field upgrade to W-Optics which will enhance resolution for a more accurate determination of chemical mass. This feature can enhance chemical characterization and potentially distinguish the compound of interest from potential interferences. Micromass, Inc., Beverly, MA is the original equipment manufacturer and is the only known source for W-Optics. If any interested organization believes they can meet the above requirements, it may submit a statement of capabilities. The capability statement must contain material in sufficient detail to allow NIOSH to determine whether the party can fully meet the requirements herein and be fully compatible with our Micromass system. Capabilities statements must be received in the contracting office no later than seven (7) days from the date of this announcement. Submit information to Brenda Goodwin, MS-1019, DHHS/PHS/CDC/NIOSH/ALOSH, 1095 Willowdale Road, Morgantown, WV 26505. The Reference Number is HELD02S00028. This purchase will be made using simplified acquisition procedures. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer if determined to be in the Government's best interest. This notice is issued for informational purposes only.
