Description
THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The purpose of this sources sought synopsis is to obtain information on emergency full-faced smoke masks as a possible replacement for the following current emergency smoke masks: Quick Donning Oxygen Mask MBU-10/P (P/N 358-1501-1, NSN 1660-00-172-1368), Full Face Oxygen and Smoke Mask (P/N 651-469, NSN not available), Quick Donning Oxygen Masks (P/N 358-1506V-1, NSN 1660-01-335-3303LS). The requirements for the emergency full-faced smoke masks are as follows: (1) the mask must provide eye protection from smoke, while supplying emergency oxygen to the crewman; (2) the crew must be able to don the mask in 5 seconds using one hand; (3) the mask must fit over the following helmets: HGU-84/5P, HGU-68(V)2/P, HGU-68(V)/1P and HGU-68(V)4/P; and (4) the mask must be capable of working with the delivery pressures of Liquid Oxygen Systems (55-90 psig) and Gaseous Oxygen Systems (55-65 psig). The Platforms under consideration for use are E-2C, C-2, P-3, and C-130. It is requested that all interested parties submit documentation on their proposed solution or current product that meets the requirements listed above. Information in the way of existing company brochures, product brochures, drawings, sketches, etc., along with a cover letter providing an explanation of how the company?s proposed product solution can meet, or be modified to meet, the requirements of this announcement is requested. Responses submitted in digital formats, readable by Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft WORD or POWERPOINT, are strongly encouraged. All questions relating to this announcement must be submitted in writing (i.e. fax, e-mail, or letterhead). Telephone responses will not be acknowledged or returned. All responses will be kept confidential. This is a request for information only. This is not a request for proposal nor is it an indication that the Navy will contract for these supplies in the future. The Navy will not pay for information received in response to this synopsis. Proprietary data in the responses will be protected where so designated.
