- Description
- DARPA's Advanced Technology Office (ATO) intends to enter into sole source negotiations with Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) for the purpose of installing, configuring, and testing SUN Server Hardware at two sites to be supplied by the Government (US Government) in support of the application of the Shapes Vector Visualization (SVV) Technology. The dependence of the Department of Defense (DoD) on secure information systems is critical and growing. This Technology represents breakthrough research conducted by the Australian Defence Science and Technology Organization (DSTO) toward helping visualize attacks on their network(s) in near real-time. On behalf of the DoD, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) seeks to apply this Technology to protect an unclassified network as an exemplar of how such networks could be protected in the future. CSC is the only resource known to the Government that has the resident personnel, facilities, and expertise to accomplish this effort within the Government?s cost and schedule constraints. CSC, for example, has resident personnel that are experienced in applying the specialized code of the SVV Technology. This announcement is not a request for proposals, or an RFP of any kind. See Note No. 22.
