Description
Provide A/E services for design to Remove Nurse Servers for Computer Stations, Floors 7, 8, and 9, Project No. PSL 015, VA Medical Center, Atlanta, Georgia. Project involves design for removal of existing nurse service cabinets on Floors 7, 8, and 9 of Tower Section of the Medical and renovation of these spaces into alcoves for placement of portable hospital-owned computer workstations. Disciplines that may be involved include but are not limited to Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural and Structural and Civil. Evaluation factors/criteria, not in priority order shall be: 1) Team Proposed for this project. 2) Proposed Management Plan. 3) Previous Experience of Team Proposed for this project. 4) Location and Facilities of Working Office(s). 5) Present Proposed Design Approach for this project. 6) Cost Control. 7) Estimating Effectiveness. 8) Schedule Control. 9) Experience and capabilities in the following areas: value engineering; Life Cycle Cost Analysis; Critical Path Method; Fast-Track Construction; Energy Conservation; New Energy Resources; Environmental Assessment; Specialized Experience; Computer Aided Design and Drafting (ability to work with AutoCAD formats and to comply with local Medical Center drafting standards); Other Computer Applications. 10) Miscellaneous, awards received for design excellence; circumstances and outcome of any litigations in the last five years; type and amount of liability insurance you carry. Previous VA experience is certainly desired but is not required. Selected VA Facilities/Engineering and contracting staff will review all submitted experience and qualifications (AE 254s/255s) packages to determine the highest qualified firms (short listing). If the VA and the top ranked firm cannot reach an agreement concerning the cost to perform this work, a fee proposal will be requested from the second-ranked firm. Area of consideration is limited to a 50-mile radius of Atlanta, Georgia. Faxed documents will not be accepted. This procurement is set-aside for Emerging Small Businesses. All interested and qualified firms within the geographic limitation (50-mile radius of Atlanta, GA) desiring consideration shall submit SF 254s and SF 255s to the following: Diana M. Nance, Contracting Officer (509/10N7NLO), VA Medical Center, One Freedom Way, Augusta, GA 30904-6285 no later than COB (4:30 PM EST), July15, 2002. NAICS code: 541310.
