Description
The U.S. Army Tank Automotive and Armaments Command, Armament Research, Development & Engineering Center (TACOM-ARDEC) is seeking sources to provide integrated functional capabilities, producibility engineering, and production engineering in support of various U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) programs for Remote Initiators systems, to meet Special Operations Forces specific need. The purpose of this market survey is to identify companies with capabilities to conduct research, development, and engineering to include electronic, mechanical, software design, producibility, and industrial engineering in order to meet the requirement above. The initiators must be small, lightweight and fit in breast pocket of the current Battle Dress Uniform (BDU). The systems must withstand the rigors of airborne, underwater operations, and cross-country movement while in the users breast pocket (BDU), capable of detonating explosive charges without any physical connection between them in all operating environmental conditions. These environmental conditions will range in temperatures from -25 to +135 degrees Fahrenheit, and include jungle, desert, arctic, mountainous, and urban environments, the effects of High Altitude Low Opening (HALO) and High Altitude High Opening (HAHO) from 35000 feet above ground, to subsurface operations. Interested parties are requested to provide information in their own format that may be of interest to the US Army in identifying potential candidates. Responses (printed material, photographs, etc.) must be less than 30 pages and be delivered to Joshua Galicki, AMSTA-AQ-APA,in Bldg. 10 Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000 no later than 15 days from the date of this notice. Proprietary and/or classified information shall be protected as denoted with submission. This market survey is for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) and is not to be construed as a commitment by the U.S. Government. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the survey or results of information submitted, and telephone inquiries or emails will not be honored. The U.S. Government will not reimburse the costs incurred by providing this information. The Government retains the right not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice.
